Coventry Peace Protesters Arrested
Coventry Man being arrested on 12th Feb 2007On Monday 12th February, around forty Coventry people took their turn in a year-long peaceful blockade of Faslane nuclear submarine base, near Glasgow. Twelve were arrested and charged with breach of the peace.

Are We There Yet?
In 1990, Karen Chouhan beat 1600 other applicants to become one of seven “visionaries” chosen by the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust for five year's financial support in a ground-breaking project aimed at changing the world. To celebrate International Women's Week, Karen came to Coventry Peace House on March 7th to talk about her vision for race equality in our lifetime, and her life as a successful campaigner, community organiser and mum. Romania and Bulgaria joined the European Union at midnight on January 1st. Our four Roving Ambassadors recently reflected about their trip to Romania last summer on their blog.

We have been working since 2002 each year with JohnGulsonSchool Year Six to celebrate and learn about our role as Global Citizens. More info and photos can be found here
Introducing a diverse group of local young people, from SidneyStringerSchool and elsewere, to volunteering in the local community. Recording just some of the complex web of family relationships that already bind our neighbourhoods to the other side of Coventry, and the other side of the world.
In 2005, migrants sent $223 billion home to family - more than twice the world's international aid budget. We've been looking into how FoleshillFeedsTheWorld and HillfieldsHelpsThePlanet.

Hackers, web designers, bloggers and other web-happy, IT-savvy people needed to form an active voluntary web/technical support team. If this could be you - please GetInTouchWithUs! Over the last seven months we have had the privilege of working quite closely with this group of local young men. Sadly, we have failed (for now!) in our bid for funds to take them to Mexico - but five of them came to Wales recently - photos here!
