Hillfields Helps The Planet

We had a stall at this year's Hillfields Gala Day on July 1st in Hillfields Village Square - people from all over the neighbourhood/the world let us know how Hillfields residents help out people in the developing world.

Just some of the ways Hillfields people help out:

• Last year I gave £150 to Islamic Relief and Muslim Aid for Earthquake Relief
• We send £500 each year for various causes in Pakistan
• I send about £200 charity money to Gujerat, India every year
• We send money to relatives in Zimbabwe
• Last money we sent £120 to relatives in Silhet, Bangladesh
• We help out family in Afghanistan
• As a family we send regular £50 to a Christian charity in Iraq
• I'm going to Kenya to work with disabled people
• I sent £500 collected from my family for wells in the Sudan
• My mum sends money twice a month to her brother in Kuwait
• We send home money four or five times a year to Guinea - we send it when friends are travelling there as we don't trust the post office or customs officials
• My friends send money to his wife in Afganistan
• I have a standing order to a charity that provides appropriate technology (a goat, seeds) across the developing world
